The conversations centered on broadening trade and investment ties between the United Arab Emirates and Germany, emphasizing the private sector’s critical contribution to innovation in industry, artificial intelligence, and clean energy projects. Sheikh Mohamed highlighted the UAE’s dedication to maintaining a competitive investment climate, supported by legislative frameworks, up-to-date regulatory systems, and access to global logistics networks. UAE President meets German business leaders as bilateral non-oil trade hits €13.4 billion, illustrating the growing economic integration connecting European manufacturing hubs with Middle Eastern commerce channels.

This engagement coincided with the bilateral business forum in Munich, where government ministers and corporate heads signed 30 memoranda of understanding and commercial agreements totaling €9.66 billion. According to official statements from the Emirates News Agency, these accords target sectors with high growth potential, such as advanced manufacturing, renewable energy, robotics, healthcare technology, and port infrastructure. UAE Minister for Foreign Trade Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi pointed out that UAE investments in Germany have increased to €34.5 billion, reflecting robust institutional capital flow between the two economies.

German business leaders expressed strong enthusiasm for expanding their presence in the UAE, citing its strategic position as a key trade route connecting European exporters to markets in the Middle East, Asia, and Africa. Participants reviewed strategic initiatives aimed at boosting joint research and development efforts in green hydrogen production, industrial automation, and digital infrastructure resilience.

The visit also featured economic discussions led by Federal Minister of Economic Affairs Katherina Reiche and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz. Both governments announced the launch of a new Strategic Dialogue framework, reinvigorating the bilateral Comprehensive Strategic Partnership established in 2004. This institutional setup will guide collaborative efforts in international security, clean energy, transportation, and defense sectors.

Bilateral Agreements Focus on Renewable Energy and Hydrogen Projects

Senior members of the Emirati delegation, including cabinet officials, regional sheikhs, and industry leaders, participated in specialized roundtable sessions on supply chain diversification. Leadership teams reaffirmed plans to establish ongoing working groups to oversee project progress and simplify regulatory procedures for cross-border investments.

Updates regarding regulatory approvals, joint venture achievements, and trade statistics will be communicated through official government channels. Regular meetings of joint steering committees will monitor the execution of the €9.66 billion deal package as both countries deepen their economic partnership.
