The expanded flydubai Bangkok flights will operate from Terminal 3 at Dubai International, offering two daily departures to Thailand’s capital and providing more options for leisure and business travelers moving between the UAE and Southeast Asia.
This additional Bangkok service, combined with flydubai’s increase in Krabi flights from four weekly to daily, will bring its Thailand schedule to up to 21 flights each week. Bangkok is flydubai’s second destination in Thailand after Krabi and is part of a broader Southeast Asian network that also includes Langkawi and Penang in Malaysia. The route provides a direct connection to Don Mueang, one of Bangkok’s two main international airports, while boosting seat availability during a period when carriers serving Thailand are expanding their schedules from the Gulf region.
Sudhir Sreedharan, flydubai’s divisional senior vice president of commercial operations, noted that the second daily flight is a response to strong early demand for the new Bangkok route. He explained that Don Mueang offers convenient access to central Bangkok and that the extra frequency offers travelers greater flexibility during the busy summer travel season. The airline has not disclosed booking or passenger load figures for the route. Nonetheless, the schedule change increases the service from seven to 14 weekly flights, making flydubai’s Bangkok routes a larger part of its Thailand operations starting July 18.
The Bangkok route is operated through the codeshare arrangement between flydubai and Emirates. Under this partnership, eligible passengers can book a single itinerary, check baggage through to their final destination, and connect across a combined network of over 240 destinations. The flights operate from Emirates’ Terminal 3 at Dubai International, facilitating connections via Dubai for travelers arriving from or continuing to markets across the Middle East, Europe, Africa, and the Americas. The published schedule indicates Don Mueang International Airport as the Bangkok endpoint for both daily services, ensuring a direct link between Dubai and Thailand’s capital.
Don Mueang Receives Additional Dubai Flights
Return Business Class fares from Dubai to Bangkok start at AED 12,000, while Economy Class Lite round-trip fares begin at AED 2,600, according to flydubai. From Bangkok, return Business Class fares start at THB 91,000 and Economy Class Lite fares at THB 21,000. The airline stated that the route is operated by Boeing 737 aircraft and highlighted cabin upgrades across its fleet, including lie-flat seats on selected Business Class configurations, redesigned Economy Class seating, meal service, and inflight entertainment on most aircraft. Published fares are subject to availability, booking conditions, and travel dates chosen by customers.
The increase in frequency coincides with flydubai’s ongoing network expansion. Recently, the airline launched flights to Benghazi in Libya and plans to commence service to Aleppo in Syria on July 20 and Pokhara in Nepal on September 23. flydubai reports serving more than 140 destinations across 58 countries with a fleet of 97 Boeing 737 aircraft. Since beginning operations in June 2009, the airline has transported over 137 million passengers and opened more than 100 routes that either lacked direct Dubai links or were not served by a UAE national carrier.
Summer Travel Demand Spurs Schedule Growth
For Bangkok, this rapid expansion follows the initial daily service launched on July 1. The new twice-daily schedule starting July 18 establishes 14 weekly flights between Dubai and Bangkok alongside seven weekly flights to Krabi, creating a total of 21 weekly flights to Thailand. Passengers can book the additional flights through the airline’s website, mobile app, contact center, travel agencies, and partners. With the schedule now confirmed, travelers can compare departure options, fare classes, and onward connections via Dubai. This growth also enhances the capacity of the Emirates codeshare network during the busy summer season, providing more options for travelers heading to Bangkok via Don Mueang.
